Wedding mornings

How long does wedding hair take? Planning your wedding morning

Nikki & Georgia, Couture Bridal Hair · 19 August 2026

There is no single answer, and any stylist who gives you one without asking questions is guessing.

The morning depends on how many people are being styled, which styles have been chosen, hair length and thickness, where you are getting ready and what time you need to be finished.

Start with your ready time

The two things we work backwards from are your ceremony time and the time you need to be completely ready — photographs, dress, everything. Once we have those, the rest of the morning can be built around them.

The running order

We plan the order around you and your bridal party rather than styling in whatever order people appear. Bridesmaids, mothers and flower girls are placed so that nobody is finished too early or rushed at the end.

Larger parties need more planning. That can change what time we arrive and how the morning is structured, which is exactly why we ask for numbers early.

You do not need to work this out

Once we know your ready time, your party and the styles you have chosen, we plan the timings and share them with you. Your job on the day is to sit down with a cup of tea.
